The Spirits chose MINERA, FLOW, and FIRE from The Madame’s Bone Oracle today.

I’ll break down the meaning of each bone, and then we’ll discuss them as a group.

MINERA: Gemstone and Crystal energy, healing through earth centered modalities

FLOW: Action, Receive, Trust, Forwards

FIRE: Transforming, Energy, Passion, Spiritual Essence

Today we’re moving away from the Elements of  Water, Air, and Earth that showed up earlier this week (multiple times!)…because who should show up today but: BOOM! Fire, baby! My husband walked by while I was editing the photo of today’s bone draw and just said “Lava” – MINERA, FLOW, and FIRE – earth that is on fire and flows! Damn if that’s not a great metaphor for this reading!

We’ve already discussed Earth this week and our relationship to it, and how we have affected that relationship on a global scale. Today, it’s showing us through MINERA what’s to come if we FLOW with the changes it is insistent on making. The FIRE element is indicative of transformation and power. It’s our SPIRITUAL essence, where as Air is mental, Water is emotional, and Earth is physical. It’s our energetic battery, so to speak. FIRE is attractive and life saving, yet terrifying and deadly. We can utilize it but never tame it. FIRE is wild and greedy – consuming at whim until another element comes  in to control it (like the stability of Earth). So what do we do with this wild fierceness? We work WITH it (FLOW) instead of trying to beat it into submission. Allies instead of Overlords.

Today’s reading tells us we all must turn our antsy, pent up energy towards a spiritual transformation that will benefit humans AND the Earth. Notice that one of the key words for FLOW is “trust”. Using the metaphor of lava (thanks Jim!), imagine how lava FLOWS quickly at first, and then as it cools off, it slows down, trusting that there is space for it to fill and move and mold where it’s meant to. Work with the FIRE inside you and FLOW forward like lava – slow, steady, trusting and insistent in purpose. Let the FIRE transform the old ways into new ways.

But here’s the BOOM! moment in this reading: The MINERA Obsidian and Apache Tears are formed of volcanic glass (FIRE). Obsidian is lava that has FLOWed and cooled quickly, whereas Apache Tears is lava that has been spewed into the air by volcanic eruption. Obsidian is used metaphysically for protection and grounding, and as a stone of focus especially in times of chaos, it makes for a great scrying stone. Apache Tears is used for healing and overcoming grief. Both correspond to our Root Chakra – the place where fear sits, and can be used to transform that fear energy into a more beneficial purpose. If that doesn’t reinforce this message then I don’t know what will.
