The Madame’s Bone Oracle Reading 04.20.20

The Spirits chose FAMILIAR, SPIRIT, and FIRE from The Madame’s Bone Oracle.

FAMILIAR: Family member, home, friend – people, places, things you know

SPIRIT: Connection, ascension, transcendence, harmony, Soul, Mystical solution

FIRE: Transforming, Energy, Passion, Spiritual Essence

Today’s reading is telling us to look to the past for inspiration forward. History repeats itself if we don’t learn the lesson from past experience. FAMILIAR and SPIRIT are tied together in this reading in a literal sense – Spirits that are Familiar to us – our Ancestors. This message isn’t to serve the fallacy that things in the past were so much better than now, or that just because people did it in the past and survived that we should do it the same manner. This isn’t the facade of a rose-colored view of our collective ancestors, or even our personal ancestors. Humans, even ones in our own bloodlines, have been horrible and cruel and evil and hateful in the past. But humans have also been compassionate and kind and resourceful and ingenious when it comes to survival. What can we learn from their past mistakes AND triumphs that will further us each along our paths? Let’s look at the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918. They jumped the gun when it came to getting back to “normal”, hosting parades and large gatherings when the first wave of infections went down, and even more people died because of it. Our FAMILIAR SPIRITS are telling us to take note! This isn’t a time for impatience. I get it – we all need to get back to work, and we all want some semblance of normalcy in whatever manner we can get it. But we’re playing the long game here. We need to learn from their mistakes, and use that information as FIRE to blaze our path forward. How can you incorporate this message into your personal life? Take a look at your own ancestors. How can you utilize their strengths and overcome their weaknesses in the face of adversity in your own life? FIRE is telling us to transform past lessons, from the vantage point of 20/20 hindsight, to meet our present needs.
