06 May The Madame’s Bone Oracle Reading 05.06.20
The spirits chose BIRTH, SUN, and MIND from The Madame’s Bone Oracle this morning.
BIRTH: Beginning, Go Forward, Future
SUN: Consciousness, Illuminate, Day, Active
MIND: Problem solved by thinking it through, analytical, logical, psyche
Yesterday we had the death/heart combo directing us to take a look at our feelings, and today the birth/mind combo indicates our thinking. It’s a tricky balance between heart and mind! Today, the Spirits are seeking to illuminate our minds, awaken our psyches, and to bring to life a new outlook. In the spiritual and new age communities, we hear a lot of talk about being “woke”, or spiritually awakened. But what does that really mean anyway? I personally dislike buzzwords that get tossed around with no substance behind them, even if I understand the sentiment. So let’s start there. First, being “woke” or “awakened” means recognizing that we are spiritual beings wearing human skin, that there is more happening in this Universe than our mundane experiences, and that we are connected to some common source that unites us in this experience – and not just understanding those words you just read, but feeling them to your core. Check. If you’re reading this, you probably already got that memo. Second, it means taking accountability for your life and choices – and that includes our thoughts!* Our thoughts create our reality. The SUN and MIND combo tells us to be conscious of our thoughts. Let some light in on those dark places: when did those thoughts take root? Do they benefit you, or do they induce anxiety and fear? Do you allow those thoughts to run wild or do you recognize when the “train is going off the track” and redirect? The Spirits are reminding us that the SUN casts shadows, and to get to the root of the problem, it’s in those shadows we need to look. Shadow Work is a deep dive down the rabbit hole that deserves time, introspection, and more in depth discussion than this daily reading allows – but if you’re feeling disconnected, at rock bottom, or at a the precipice of great change – and reBIRTH – do some research on Shadow Work. Think of your MIND as a fallow field that needs tending and nurturing, and that growth (BIRTH) doesn’t occur until the shadows recede and the SUN shines.
* I feel I need to amend that to say that I’m not of the belief that we are responsible for everything that has happened to us in our lives (like abuse, for example), only that we are responsible (to ourselves) for how we cope with it.
